The Bachelor of Science in Applied Math provides students with a solid background in applied mathematics. It is only available on the Carrollton campus. Students gain an understanding of calculus as it applies to computational aspects, applications, and theoretical foundations. Students are able to read, write and understand mathematical proofs, such as logic, set theory, basic function theory, and mathematical induction. They also gain an understanding of applied linear algebra along with a solid background in the fundamentals of applied computational mathematics, including numerical analysis and differential equations. Master of Science in Applied Computer Science

The University of West Georgia offers a Master of Science in Applied Computer Science that is available completely online. Students gain the computer and information technology skills necessary to understand practical and comprehensive pedagogy. They learn web technologies, program construction, software development and other skills necessary to obtain leadership roles in data science. Using team exercises, students develop the skills to design and implement systems as well as to recognize and analyze issues facing data professionals today. Courses required may include:

About the University of West Georgia

Established in 1906 as the Fourth Agricultural and Mechanical School, the original goal of the University of West Georgia was to educate people who lived in rural areas of the state. The Bonner plantation was chosen as the location for the school which began offering adult education and extension education in the 1920s. In 1933, it was renamed West Georgia College. The school gained university status in 1996.

Today, the University of West Georgia is the state’s sixth-largest public university with 13,520 students enrolled. University of West Georgia Accreditation Details

The University of West Georgia is accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools and has held that accreditation since 1936. Accreditation indicates that the school meets or exceeds criteria determined by the Association that indicate excellence in education. In addition, the school undergoes periodic peer review to confirm programs continue to meet those criteria. University of West Georgia Application Requirements

Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics must submit official high school transcripts as well as official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

Applicants to the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Applicants must also submit official GRE or GMAT scores, a current resume and a statement of purpose.

University of West Georgia Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition for the Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics is $182.13 per credit hour for Georgia residents and $642.73 for non-residents. Graduate tuition for on-campus classes is $241.00 per credit hour for Georgia residents and $935.00 per credit hour for non-residents. Online classes are $241.00 per credit hour regardless of residency.

Financial aid is available and students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for any assistance and the FAFSA must be renewed annually. Currently, students are provided over $130 million in scholarships, grants, federal programs and loans at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
