The Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics at Southern New Hampshire University is designed for those who want to apply data to business decisions. The program combines business, information technology, and math with data mining, simulation, and optimization. Students learn to dissect information and put it in today’s context in order to face business challenges. They learn to identify and define data challenges while collecting information from a variety of sources. Students develop oral and written communication skills as well as an understanding of how to examine data, determine what is relevant and analyze the information. The program can be completed in as little as 18 months and covers subjects such as Foundations of Data and Decision Methods and Modeling along with Presentation and Visualization of Data, Optimization and Risk Assessment and Predictive Analytics. Students develop concrete skills that can apply to any industry. The program is available in a completely online format. Courses required include Predictive Analytics, Enterprise Data Management, Optimization and Risk Assessment, as well as Project Management and Foundations of Data.

About Southern New Hampshire University
Southern New Hampshire University began in 1932 as a small, private school known as the New Hampshire Accounting and Secretarial School. The initial goal to teach bookkeepers. Students developed practical, marketable skills that took two years to complete. The school allowed students to start their studies on any Monday, attend at night and pay tuition in installments. Students could only move to the higher level courses if they mastered the lower level courses. Rare for the time period, instructors were college-educated with workplace experience.
When the United States entered World War II, the school shifted to providing education to military members. The first program at the school designed for the military was offered at the Manchester Air Base where servicemen took typing, business English and business math during the day, returning to their military studies in the evening. The school began participating in bond drives to raise money for the war effort and accepted disabled veterans in vocational programs. In the 1960s, the school expanded its military offerings throughout New England and into Puerto Rico.
In the early 1960s, the school gained accreditation and changed its name to the New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce. When the school became a non-profit institution, the name changed again to New Hampshire College. At this time, the school was renting as much space as possible in downtown Manchester but was outgrowing the location. In 1971, the school moved to a 300-acre campus on the Merrimack River.
In 1995, the school offered an internet-based learning program and, in 1997, unveiled a one-of-a-kind bachelor’s degree in business administration that took three years to complete. In 1998, the first online doctoral program was offered. The school gained university status in 2001.
Today, Southern New Hampshire University has more than 3,000 on-campus and over 90,000 online students. It was named the 2017 Most Innovative University and one of the Best Regional Universities by US News & World Report. The school was awarded the 21st Century Distance Learning Award for Excellence in Online Technology by the United States Distance Learning Center.

Southern New Hampshire University Application Requirements
Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics must complete an application and provide official high school transcripts. They must speak to an admissions counselor as well. Any students who have earned college credit after high school graduation must also provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. GRE or GMAT scores are not required.
In order to apply for the Master of Science in Data Analytics, applicants must complete an application and speak to an admissions counselor. Students must have an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 in order to be accepted into graduate programs.
Southern New Hampshire University Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition for the Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics is $320 per credit hour both online and on-campus. Tuition for the Master of Science in Data Analytics is $627 per credit hour both online and on-campus.
Financial aid is available and students must complete the Free Application Although there is no undergraduate GPA requirement, higher GPAs may make students eligible for additional scholarship programs. The Student Financial Services team has saved students over $13 million by helping them develop financially intelligent plans. All students must discuss financial aid with a financial advisor as all aid is created on an individual basis.
