To complete an MS in Business Analytics, students must fulfill 10 courses and 30 credit hours.

UMass Boston’s doctoral program is an intersection of several different areas of study. From business and strategy to technology, this Ph.D. program exposes students to a range of information systems, research techniques, and data management. Students will take courses in quantitative research, regression, multivariate statistics, and a selection of elective courses. Undergraduate students who wish to become business analysts masters or Ph. Ds can begin interacting with bioinformatics by taking it as a credit-based course.

University of Massachusetts-Boston Application Requirements

UMass Boston accepts applications three times a year. Once for early action, a second time for regular decision applications and a third time for spring semester applicants. For first-year students, UMass requires:

  • A complete application
  • High school transcripts
  • SAT or ACT score of 1130 or 23
  • A personal essay of no less than 500 words
  • A letter of recommendation
  • A $60 application fee
  • English language proficiency verification for non-native speakers

Non-native English speakers can provide language proficiency evidence with an SAT score of at least 480 in the reading and writing section, a TOEFL score of at least 79 (internet-based), an IELTS score of 6.0 or proficient completion of the University Preparation Program by UMass Boston. For the personal essay, several prompts are provided. A few topics to write about include, achievements, personal ethical dilemmas that have had an impact on your life, write about someone who has immensely influenced your life, discuss concerns you may have regarding local, national or global occurrences, choose a topic of your preference and many more. Satisfactory Advanced Placement scores may be credited to student’s credit counts. Scores must be sent to and processed by The College Board and then sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UMass Boston. Admissions are slightly selective and for every 100 students that apply, 78 are admitted.

Prospective first-year students can mail their documentation to the admissions center or apply through the Common App or an online application portal. For masters and doctoral students, satisfactory GMAT/GRE scores are mandatory for participation in certain programs of study.

Tuition and Financial Aid

For full-time in-state students, tuition and fees are $14,167 and $33,966 for full-time out-of-state individuals. Full-time international students have a tuition cost of $34,286. Students who are full-time and eligible for NERSP tuition breaks can expect costs of $27,673. Every academic year, UMass Boston awards students with a total of $159 million, each award is initiated as first come first served. Completing a FAFSA application is necessary for federal government financial aid.
