The Florida Institute of Technology is a private university in Melbourne, Florida, that has a campus of around 130 acres and more than 6,400 students attending classes. Students are split fairly evenly between undergraduate and graduate programs. The university was known as the Brevard Engineering College when it was founded in 1958. Most of the students are enrolled in degrees in science and engineering.

The official colors of the school are gray and crimson, and its sports teams are nicknamed the Panthers.
