The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Intelligence focuses on the vital role technology plays in today’s business world. About Baker College

In 1888, Muskegon College was founded by Woodbridge Ferris who eventually became Governor of Michigan and a US Senator. In 1911, the Baker Business University opened in Winfield, Kansas. The business school was founded by Eldon E. Baker who eventually moved the school to Flint, Michigan, where it operated on the corner of Court Street and South Saginaw.

The two schools merged in 1965 after the Baker Business University was purchased by Robert Jewell of Muskegon and the name was changed to Baker Junior College. Initially, the schools operated under three campuses until they received accreditation and the Baker College System was authorized to grant four-year degrees in 1986. In 1988, Baker College moved to the former Mandeville School property where the main campus stands today.

Today, Baker College has a mission to prepare students for competency in a wide range of degree programs and to help students gain strong communication and critical thinking skills. Students are encouraged to give back to their community through practical experiences, training, social programs, and other activities. The school offers quality academic programs and adapts to changing conditions by implementing deliberate strategic initiatives aimed while also striving for continuous improvement.

Baker College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation is a peer-review process that confirms to parents, students, and employers that the education provided by Baker College is of the highest quality. The school undergoes periodic reviews to confirm that they continue to have the resources to meet their goals and objectives. Baker College Application Requirements

Applicants who have not earned college credit after high school graduation must complete an application and provide official high school transcripts along with SAT or ACT scores. Applicants who have earned college credit after the graduated from high school must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Transfer acceptance is based on the applicant’s GPA as well as whether their prior college studies are relevant to the programs offered at Baker College. All transfer students must speak to an enrollment coordinator before applying to Baker College.

Graduate applicants must complete an application and provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. They must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in order to apply for graduate studies. Applicants must also provide a current resume and a 500 to 1,000-word essay that explains their career goals and how they would be a good fit for the program. GMAT or GRE scores are not required but applicants may submit them if they are available.

Baker College Tuition and Financial Aid

Undergraduate tuition at Baker College is $400 per credit hour. Master’s tuition is $695 per credit hour and doctoral tuition is $915 per credit hour. Baker College is proud to offer the lowest private college tuition in Michigan. They are a non-profit school which means they are able to keep their tuition low and provide students with the best possible education at those rates. There are no additional fees or costs added to tuition other than books or supplies.

Financial aid is available and Baker College understands that funding higher education can be overwhelming and frustrating. Many students at the college receive some type of financial aid to help cover the cost of tuition. All students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), regardless of income. There is financial aid that is provided based on merit rather than need.

Assistance may be offered in the form of grants or scholarships which do not need to be repaid. On campus, students may be offered work-study, fellowships or assistantships which provide employment to offset the cost of tuition. Loans may also be offered but it is important to remember that loans must be repaid. Loans may be federal, private or parent loans.
