M.S. in Informatics: Data Analytics Specialization

Continuously since 1913, Indiana University Bloomington has undergone comprehensive evaluations for regional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA). Last reaffirmed in 2008 under president Michael McRobbie, IUB has 132 master’s and 98 doctoral degrees meeting U.S. Department of Education quality standards. The School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is specifically accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The M.S. in Business Analytics also has approval from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.
Indiana University Bloomington Application Requirements
Big Data enthusiasts can easily calculate their odds of passing Indiana University Bloomington’s “more selective” admission rate of 79 percent. Pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. will require first completing a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited school. Although specific majors aren’t stated, data science applicants must meet prerequisites in statistics, calculus, and computing. Knowledge of Python, R, and C++ is mandatory. Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 in technical college curricula is expected. Unless you have 5+ years of experience, combined GRE scores of 302 or higher are needed. Foreign data science students must also present a TOEFL iBT scores above 100.
Indiana University Bloomington established a May 15th deadline for the M.S. in Data Science. However, the M.S. in Business Analytics and Ph.D. in Informatics programs have deadlines of July 15th and December 1st respectively. Tuition and Financial Aid
Full-time graduate tuition for Indiana residents averages $8,695 per year. Taking 9+ graduate credits costs $28,420 yearly on average for nonresidents. In particular, degrees like the M.S. in Data Science will following the School of Informatics’ tuition schedule of $428 for in-state and $1,360 for out-of-state students per credit. Business master’s students receive a flat-rate fee of $13,132-$23,563 per term.
