Bachelor of Science in Data Science
The Bachelor of Science in Data Science offered through the College of Business at Bryant University was developed with insights from industry experts. It combines programming, statistics, machine learning, big data, management, and business domain language. Students also earn the SAS/Bryant Certificate in Applied Analytics as part of the degree program. They are also prepared for certification in Teradata, Tableau and other analytic applications. Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics provides an understanding of the mathematical and statistical concepts used in business applications. Students learn using real-world problems and are able to earn their SAS certificate in data mining. They also apply the theories and principles learned in the classroom during an internship that is required for the program. Courses required may include:

Bachelor of Science in Applied Analytics
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Analytics provides a solid foundation in integrating technology and analytical methods used to acquire, analyze and apply data. The program is interdisciplinary and provides students with an understanding of how analytics work in literature, history, social media, bioinformatics, and business. Students learn to conceptualize, apply and integrate effective strategies to acquire, store, analyze and deploy information effectively. The program is a secondary concentration that must be taken with a major through the College of Arts and Sciences or in Business. It is an 18-credit sequence that includes courses such as:
- Data Mining for Effective Decision Making
- Introduction to Applied Analytics
- Managing Information for Applied Analytics
A capstone project is also required as part of the concentration.
About Bryant University
Bryant University was founded in 1863 as a branch of Bryant & Stratton College. The school was named after the founders of the school, John Collins and Henry Beadman Bryant. In 1916, the Rhode Island branch was sold and joined the Rhode Island Commercial School which was founded in 1898. It became known as the Bryant College of Business Administration.
From 1935 until 1971, the school was located on College Hill near Brown University. In 1967, Earl S. Tupper, an alumnus of the school and the inventor of Tupperware, donated his 428-acre estate in Smithfield to be used as a new campus for Bryant College. The campus was named after him and Bryant relocated to the new campus in 1971. The old Emin and Captain Joseph Mowry homesteads were purchased to expand the campus.
During the 1990s, Bryant struggled financially until Ronald K. Machtley took over as president. Under his direction, a new capital campaign began and the school gained university status in 2004. Today, 99 percent of the most recent graduating class was employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation and the median first-year salary for graduates is $60,000.

Bryant University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. This indicates that the school meets or exceeds criteria determined by the Commission that indicates excellence in education. In addition, accreditation indicates that the school has the resources to meet its stated goals and objectives. The College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Bryant University Application Requirements
Applicants who have not earned college credit after high school graduation must submit an essay, secondary school report and an official transcript. They must also provide official ACT or SAT scores.
Applicants who have earned college credit after high school graduation must submit official high school transcripts as well as official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Those who are transferring less than 30 credit hours must also submit official ACT or SAT scores. A personal essay and a list of courses not displayed on transcripts must also be included.
Bryant University Tuition & Financial Aid
Full-time tuition at Bryant University is $44,498 per year. Financial aid is available and students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify. Financial aid packages may include loans, grants or scholarships as well as work-study programs.
The total undergraduate limit for student loans as set by the federal government is $31,000 with students offered $5,500 their first year, $6,500 their second and $7,500 for subsequent years of study. Parent PLUS loans are also available.
