Earning an online bachelor’s in statistics is a great way to prepare graduates for entry-level jobs as statisticians in healthcare, government, financial agencies, or non-profits. Coursework typically consists of basic statistics, calculus, algebra, regression analysis, and some type of computer course. Statistics programs can be stand alone programs, or embedded in mathematics programs. Advanced and upper level statistician jobs typically require a master’s in the field. However, earning a bachelor’s degree with a focus in statistics is a great way to gain experience and the foundational education needed for career advancement.

We created a ranking of the top five online bachelor’s degrees in statistics. Since there are simply not many programs out there, we expanded our search to include mathematics programs with a concentration in statistics or an area of statistics. We used College Navigator to find schools offering these types of programs and then researched the schools to gain more knowledge about the programs they offer. For the purpose of this ranking, we defined an online program as one having a significant number of courses available online. We applied our ranking criteria to find  the top five online bachelor’s in statistics programs.
